Mitchell - Senior Photos 2012

A few weeks ago I got another opportunity to shoot Senior photos for a coworker's son.  As always, I was a little nervous.  Guys are usually hard to shoot because they have that "I don't really care" or "I don't really want to be here" attitude when it comes to picture taking.  Mitchell was not like that, AT ALL!  We (at least I did) had so much fun!  As you can see from the photos, he is definitely a natural.

An observation I made while shooting but who do you think he looks like?  Hint: Someone famous... ;)

Such a good sport!  He was open for any pose I threw at him.

See?!  What a natural, right?!?

Mitchell plays Varsity football for New Brighton High School.  He said this was his 10th year (am I right?) playing on this field!

Look at those eyes!  Just Gorgeous!  Still wondering who he looks like?  Any guesses yet?

A fun casual shot!

I love shots on train tracks!  It was Mitchell's idea to shoot on them.  Worked out great I think!

The football team comes through these doors before every home game!

I love his look in this one!  It says: "I know something you don't know."
This hat was his Grandfather's.  So sweet for Mitchell to wear it. We had a lot of fun with it!

Still wondering what famous person he looks like?  What do you think?  Yes or no? :) When I told Mitchell I thought he looks like Ryan Gosling he asked me who it was - haha!  Oh well... he'll know now.

Thank you for being such a great subject, Mitchell.  Enjoy your senior year - it FLIES by!  I may be contacting you in the near future to ask you questions about Photoshop.  Keep in touch!

Hope everyone enjoyed!

Drawing

Hi everyone!  It's that time of year again; the temps are starting to drop, the leaves are changing, almost time to switch out your wardrobe, and a beautiful time for a photo shoot.   On October 17th I am going to draw a lucky Facebook fan's name for a photo shoot of their choosing for half off (that's right - HALF OFF).
How to get your name put in the drawing you ask?  Simple.  All you need to do is "Like" my Facebook fanpage here. Those of you who already are fans (THANK YOU!) will automatically go in.  You can get your name put into the drawing more times if you suggest my page to your friends.  Just have your friend(s) who you referred to my page let me know who referred them and I will add your name in accordingly.
In addition to getting a half off photo shoot you will get an 8x10 Standout Photo of your choosing on me!
Look forward to hearing from you all and don’t forget to spread the word for a better chance to win!
Good Luck!
xoxo,
Alyson aka acornphotography :)

Jordyn

About a week and a half ago I was given an opportunity to photograph a gorgeous little girl, Jordyn. When I first go to her house, Jordyn was full of energy. I knew immediately it would be a good shoot. She is so happy and full of life! As soon as I got there she was dancing and "cheesing" for me. We spent the afternoon blowing bubbles, swinging on her swingset, dancing, playing, etc. I had so much fun!

Below are a few of the photos I took. I hope you enjoy!

Playing with bubbles!
See how happy she is?
Loved her little shoes!  Thought this was just so precious.
Look at those curls! Love it!
Showing off her dance moves!  And let me tell ya, she's got some moves.
So Sweet
Isn't she just beautiful?!  Look at her eyes!  She could totally be a model.
Just so happy!
Yummmmmmm cupcake time for being good!
Love the rain coat!

Like I said before, I had so much fun with Jordyn.  And how could I not, right?  Isn't she just adorable?!?!?

Thank you so much for the opportunity, Lori!  It was so great to spend time with Jordyn and see you again.  Your family is precious!  I hope to see you again in the future!

Alyson

Newbie Session

For a belated birthday gift to my coworker/good friend, Cindy, I offered to photograph her grandchild. I cannot remember if she knew the sex of the baby in April, when her birthday is, but I gave her an IOU letting her know I wanted to do this for her. Maximon Henry Evanko was brought into the world on August 22nd at a healthy 8lbs and 13oz to the proud parents of Aaron and Nick. Grammy and Mommy could not be happier. And can't you see why? How cute is he? I was thrilled to get the opportunity to photograph a newborn. And I had so much fun!

The week before I got stuck in Michaels (I know, how awful, right?) during a torrential downpour so I was able to find a few fun props I was able to use for this shoot. So glad I got "stuck" there and found more props to add to my growing collection of what Chris calls "junk." Look Chris! Told you so! :)

The stork pictured here was made my Cindy (pretty crafty, huh?) for Aaron's baby-shower in June. She put it out front so everyone would know where to come. Loved it!

Grammy cannot take her eyes off her new grandson!

Look at the babies bottom!!! Max is going to love these when he's 12/13/14/15 years old ;)

Prop #1: the basket I purchased while at Michaels. Worked out quite nicely, don't ya think?

Prop #2: the frame. The ones with the frame are definitely my favorite! Cindy's backyard was such a great setting for a photo shoot.

I just love the sweet details...!

I had so much fun getting to meet Maximon and taking his first professional photos. Thank you Aaron and Cindy for the opportunity.

Hope everyone enjoyed!

Until next time,
Alyson
