Quotes

I am such a sucker for a good quote.  And it seems that quote appears when I need it the most to encourage me to keep going, remind me there is hope and I have a lot to be grateful for when I'm just having one of those days.  Today was one of those days.  Starting to feel discouraged again and letting those no good, very bad negative thoughts cloud my thinking.

This morning I was reading through my Twitter feed and KEV!NOU's tweet (is that what you call them) caught my attention:

Just what I needed to see/hear today.  Does anyone else find that to be true?  You read or hear something that you just really needed?

I have been a collector of quotes since I was probably 12 years old.  I have three or four diaries (yes, diaries - even ones with a key) full of quotes (and the occasional rant).  I'm hoping my mom has them somewhere in St. Louis because I would be curious to look through those now.

Anyway, what are your favorite quotes?  I have SO many but here are two of my all time favorites:

"... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude..."
- American Beauty -

"I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it."
- Harry Emerson Fosdick -

I would love to hear from you, who ever you are, on quotes and what they mean/say to you.  Look forward to hearing from you!

Happy Hump Day:):):)

  1. I LOVE quotes, too! (Trying to find my quotes on FB just took 10 mins!) My current favorite is this: "Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get - only with what you are expecting to give - which is everything." - Katharine Hepburn

Please excuse the lovey-dovey mushyness, we're newly engaged ;)

    1. That is such a nice quote, Angie! No need to apologize for any "lovey-dovey mushyness." What an exciting time for you and your fiance! Congratulations again to you both! When is the big day? And where are y'all getting married?
